Triumph to Tryon, a special presentation of WBTV (channel 3), which is narrated by Steve Crump, takes an in-depth look at the history of The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture. Neighboring Concepts was the Associate Architect for the Center and Darrel Williams, principal, participates in the documentary that celebrates this beautiful new museum.
Neighboring Concepts recently completed the renovation of the 30th floor of One Wachovia Center (400 South Tryon Street) for Duke Energy Corporation.
Neighboring Concepts is the architect of record for the Johnson C. Smith University Visual and Performing Arts Center. The design/build project includes upfitting the existing Griffin Tire building on Beatties Ford Road for approximately 15,000 sq. feet of office; painting, sculpture, and dance studios; performance spaces; dressing areas and graphics arts. A groundbreaking ceremony will be held on December 10, 2009, and the project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2010.
Neighboring Concepts developed a Master Plan for St. Paul Baptist Church on a four-block in the Belmont Community, just north of Charlotte’s Center City. Currently, we are working on a comprehensive rezoning of the property so that implementation of the plan may begin.
Little Rock AME Zion Church has retained Neighboring Concepts for the design of its new Family Life Center. The conceptual design includes 22,000 sq feet of daycare and multipurpose areas.
