(Charlotte, NC) Revolution Park Sports Academy opened in May 2010. The project, which is targeting LEEDŽ Gold, will be the first LEEDŽ certified project for Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation.

The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture hosted its official grand opening on Saturday, October 24, 2009. Principals Chris Ogunrinde, Luis Tochiki, and Darrel Williams attended the Founder’s Society Gala on Friday, October 23, 2009, along with many Charlotte notables including Mayor-elect Anthony Foxx and former Mayor and building namesake Harvey Gantt. Neighboring Concepts was the Associate Architect for the Center.

Construction has begun for the new 1,100-vehicle parking facility for Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC). CPCC Student Deck III will be located on the corner of Charlottetown Avenue and Seventh Street and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.

Demolition of the 50,000 sq. ft. Latham Residence Hall has been completed to make room for the NC Central University Latham Parking Garage and bookstore. The 750-vehicle parking facility will include 20,000 sq. ft. of retail and office space, and will house a coffee shop, campus bookstore and police substation. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 2010.

The Charlotte Streetcar has entered Preliminary Engineering (PE) to bring plans for the project to thirty-percent (30%) design and identify alternative alignments. Neighboring Concepts will provide public engagement and graphics services for the PE phase.
