The Charlotte Mecklenburg District Attorney’s Office is in the county’s historic courthouse building located at 700 East Trade Street. The D.A.’s office currently shares space with certain police investigations units as well as the county’s Probation Offices. Improvements will focus on office and research areas by upgrading finishes, introducing daylighting techniques and improving circulation between spaces. HVAC replacement, electrical upgrades and ADA accessibility issues will also be addressed through the completed design. The 2020 plan for the building involves moving the Probation Offices out of the existing building and enlarging areas dedicated for use by the D.A.’s office.
