The Independence Parking Deck is part of a series of expansions on the Central Campus. Led by Bovis Lend Lease,  the building is the first Design – Build project to go through the comprehensive state review process. Embracing the urban fabric of the site location, the Independence Parking Deck was designed to accommodate the existing pedestrian oriented streets of the Elizabeth Neighborhood.  The design team accomplished this by breaking the linear fashion of a traditional deck into modules consistent with the surrounding buildings. Retail space fronting Independence Boulevard and a loggia running along Fourth Street help enhance the pedestrian experience.
