As a sub-consultant to Atkins, Neighboring Concepts designed comfort stations and custom bus shelters for four Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) Park and Ride Facilities that serve communities surrounding the Charlotte area. Each facility design was guided by valuable input from the users and in collaboration with the project artist to reflect the character of the community. The facilities were designed to accommodate passenger waiting, a driver rest area, and secure bicycle storage for transit riders utilizing the park and ride facilities.
