Charlotte Convention Center Renovation
501 S College St, Charlotte, NC 28202, USA
Commercial
Originally constructed in 1995, the Charlotte Convention Center underwent an extensive renovation to deliver a competitive experience for meeting planners and convention attendees. Based on recommendations from a market study commissioned by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, tvsdesign and Neighboring Concepts explored a series of potential improvements and developed a master plan for expanding and enhancing the center.
The implementation of the master plan includes the renovation of 76,000 sf and the addition of 26,000 sf new meeting space. Additional improvements include the addition of a pedestrian bridge and outdoor terrace over Stonewall Street, and a new atrium pre-function space. Neighboring Concepts supported tvs design in these efforts, while serving as the lead for the pedestrian bridge and outdoor terrace.
