500 W Pettigrew St, Durham, NC 27701, USA

Transit

Neighboring Concepts served AECOM as subconsultants for the Durham - Orange Light Rail Transit Project preliminary engineering efforts. We initially participated in the Triangle Transit Regional Transit Program Alternatives Analysis for the first rapid transit corridor studies (2010–2011), which included the alternatives for the Durham-Orange Corridor. Subsequently, from 2013-2016, we supported the Preliminary Engineering Design with 30% Design of all vertical structures, including pedestrian bridges, the Alston Avenue Parking Deck, the Rail Operations and Maintenance Facility buildings, and Stations. Neighboring Concepts also provided assistance with the public involvement process for the associated NEPA Process, including assistance with visualizations and public meeting facilitation.

During Final Design, our team served in a Program Management role, led by HNTB, providing oversight on project schedule and budget for all vertical structures.
