Neighboring Concepts is providing design and construction administration services for four Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics to offer quality healthcare services in four historically underserved neighborhoods in Charlotte and Wilmington. Our firm was selected for this effort due to our mission to improve the quality of life for residents and businesses in socially and physically challenged urban neighborhoods. We are recognized for providing community engagement services to ensure all stakeholders have ownership in developing and implementing sustainable solutions through quality partnerships and collaborations. Novant’s intent for these four clinics is to provide quality health services in underserved communities where these services are needed the most.

After the first two clinics were completed in Charlotte, Michael Jordan Family wanted to expand these clinics to his hometown of Wilmington and our firm was selected for this effort after the success of the two sister clinics in Charlotte. The design team, working with Novant, the Michael Jordan Family, and neighborhood residents have designed four modern healthcare facilities that respect and honor the history and culture of these communities. The buildings were well designed to be inviting, vibrant and sensitive to each community while providing natural light throughout, including within the individual patient rooms without sacrificing privacy. The buildings were also designed to maximize efficiency for nurse and administrative staff, provide a quality work environment while also providing much needed community health services.
